Estuary Management

MarCon’s main business area is in environmental modelling of coastal and estuarine systems where the company offers specialist services to clients. MarCon specialise in the development and application of water management tools and has developed a wide range of applications.

MarCon has a reputation as being a leader in the development of environmental modelling software tools. In particular, MarCon’s main product MarGIS™_HD, initially developed for the UK Environment Agency is now the driving force within the company. The UK Environment Agency regards MarGIS™ as a standard product and is considered ‘best practice’ in fulfilling its obligations under the EU Habitats Directive.

MarCon has modelled most of the major water bodies around the Irish coast since it's foundation and these models are all now available within the MarGIS™ GIS embedded modelling system. MarCon also provide services to clients to develop new modelling applications for inclusion in the MarGIS™ system.
